INTRODUCING AMITY

TAKE A LOOK BEHIND THE SCENES OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF AMITY (formerly known as AVENIR ASSOCIATION)

It's been a while since our last post on here, so let us re-introduce ourselves.

We are the co-founders of AMITY, a project we have been working on for quite some time now. What started out as the recognition of substantial gaps within our current education system and a desire to change the world for the better, has developed into so much more over the past 3 years.

As part of a student project in the “Founders Laboratory” course, we were fortunate enough to develop our solutions further. With the help of fellow students, we engaged in exchange with youths and adolescents, tested our hypotheses and revised the initial concepts.

STUDENT PROJECT

During the “Founders Laboratory” course of the entrepreneurship study program at the Berlin School of Economics and Law, were were able to further develop our ideas.

As we worked on the problem, both alone and as part of the project, a concrete vision emerged. We narrowed down our solution proposals to focus on something very important: mental health and well-being.

Our approach will be very different from what is currently out there, as we plan on focusing on the prevention and early intervention aspect of mental health and mental illness. By putting an emphasis on establishing a healthy lifestyle, we aim to make it accessible for everyone to take care of their mental health. There is a mental illness crisis, especially among youths and adolescents, and it is clear that new approaches are needed to solve this crisis as soon and as sustainably as possible.

We want to raise awareness, de-stigmatise conversations around mental illness, and reiterate that our mental health is something we should all be thinking about and taking care of.

COLLABORATION

We went into the direct interaction with youths and adolescents to find out more about the problems they face when it comes to mental health and worked out concrete solutions.

A WORK IN PROGRESS

As we continue to work on this project, we hope to bring you along the journey. We will be posting regular updates on here and on our socials.

We can not wait to see our vision unfold, and we hope you will be a part of creating this new era of mental health care.

Your co-founders,

Minh and Agascha
